Terms of Sale:

1) All designs remain the property of Smith Marine Design and may be used only as authorized in writing by Smith Marine Design. With the purchase of Stock Plans or a Kit, you will be granted authorization to build one (1) boat. For additional boats, a royalty equal to the Stock Plan or Kit purchase price shall be paid for each additional boat prior to the start of construction of each boat. For each royalty paid, Smith Marine Design will supply a complete set of plans/kit and written authorization for the additional boat. If your plans are for a high volume production boat, please contact me to make special arrangements.

2) No plans or kits shall be sold to a third party, unless authorized in writing by Smith Marine Design.

3) All payments are to be made in U.S. dollars and drawn on a U.S. Bank.

4) Since Smith Marine Design is neither building or supervising construction of the boat, the Stock Plan/Kit purchaser agrees to hold Smith Marine Design harmless from any results of using the plans supplied.

5) As plans/kits can not be resold or returned to stock, all sales are final.

6) Reasonable consultation time is included with all purchases. If you have any questions, please contact me prior to buying materials or starting construction. Please remember, that I want you to be happy with your boat when you are done, so I'll do all I can to help you along the way!

7) Postage rates are as follows:
       Study Plans (U.S. Address) - $4.00 U.S.
       Study Plans (Foreign Address) - $9.00 U.S.
       Stock Plans (U.S. Address) - $10.00 U.S.
       Stock Plans (Foreign Address) - $20.00 U.S.

    Plans will generally be sent by U.S. Postal Service First Class/Priority Mail in the U.S. or Airmail overseas. Sometimes I will use UPS if the shipping costs are lower. If you need any special shipping arrangements, such as Next Day Air, please contact me and I'll let you know the costs.

    Shipping costs for kits will vary depending on your location and whether the address is commercial or residential. It may also be effected by the type of truck required to make the delivery or if a fork lift is available. The cost for shipping kits will be determined for each customer and will be quoted prior to the purchase of the kit.

8) The information I collect is used only for processing your order and will not be shared with anyone other than the payment processor. I do not maintain a mailing list and have no interest in doing so in the future. I'd rather spend my time designing boats!

9) If you are paying by Check or Money Order, please make them payable to Smith Marine Design.
