Remember me saying Ben was installing only 316 stainless steel fittings on the boat? Well it turns out that no one makes a 316 stainless motorwell drain. That means if you are Ben you just get out the metal and the tools and make your own! He started by cutting a round out of 1/8" stainless flat bar. Then he drilled a 1" hole in the center, creating a washer of sorts. Then he got a friend who is a master at welding (great friend to have when you are building a boat!) to weld 1" OD stainless tube to the washers. The next step was to mount the part in the Hardinge lathe that he inherited from an uncle to clean it up.
