Ben is going to plank the bottom with two layers of Douglas Fir marine plywood. Here are a stack of planks he has cut from the plywood. You can see how there are some small gaps in the inner layers. Evidently this is allowed under our standard, but may not be allowed under the BS1088 standard used for the imported, and much more expensive, Okoume plywood. These gaps are small enough that I am not too worried, especially with the heavy layer of 1808 'glass that will be covering the entire hull.
